Prepping for the Big Road Trip:
Virginia to Glacier National Park
I will trade green hills and humidity for big skies and alpine air. That’s right—road-tripping from Virginia to Montana, with Glacier National Park as my final stop. It’s a long haul, but that’s the point. I want to see the country change mile by mile.
The prep? It’s half the fun.
🧭 Route Planning
I’m not just taking the fastest path, I’m making it scenic. Think mountains, prairies, and quirky small towns. I’ve pinned national parks, cool roadside stops, and a few spots just for hiking.
🚙 Car Check
Oil change? Done. Tires? Rotated. Emergency kit? Packed. I’ve got a cooler for snacks, extra water, and that just-in-case stash (blanket, flashlight, jumper cables). This isn’t a trip where I want to wing it.
🎒 Gear Check
Layers, always. Weather shifts fast when crossing that many states, and Montana can still surprise you in summer. I’m packing hiking boots, a good rain jacket, and plenty of socks (hikers get it). Bear spray, too—because Glacier is bear country.
🎶 The Vibe
I’ve got podcasts and playlists ready. Some road trip classics, some moody mountain tunes, and a notebook, because I know I’ll want to jot things down when I stop and breathe in the views.
☕ Me Time
This trip isn’t just about Glacier (though that park has been on my list forever). It’s about the journey from East to West. Watching landscapes change. Making time to pause. Sip coffee in a quiet place. Stretch out on a trail. Just exist.
So yeah—I'm ready for the road. It’ll be long, unpredictable, probably a little weird in places—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
